This my 5 in. Tall and 3 in wide slab cup. I used water color to design a group of floating balloons and the words, "Float Away". I then dipped it into a clear glaze and TA-DA! The downside is that when I dipped my cup into the glaze, I saw the black water color and some colors on the balloon begin to smear. One thing I learned from that is that I must let the watercolor completely dry for at least one more day before dipping my cup in. My slab cup could've been better too. I don't really like the shape of my cup or the handle, but I just had to work with it. Next time I'll probably make a teacup. I'm going to practice to make a better one!

This is the group coil project created by Cole, Xane, and I. It is 3 1/2 inches wide and 4 3/4 inches tall. I used black, ivory, blue, dark cobalt, white, and yellow glaze to bring out different designs we created. We created coils, balls, and layers. The art element used was reflection because we created the same pieces making sure they mirror one another; space as well. We could've made it bigger, but since the base started out small, it made the whole project small. I was the only intermediate within he group so I was able to help the two beginners with what we had to include within the coil project. Overall we did a good job together.
My Finished WorkThis is my bowl number 1. It is about 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide. The colors I used for my bowl were white and blue. I didn't actually mean for the glaze to come out like this because I made the whole bowl white and I wanted the lip to be blue. When it came out of the kiln, the outcome of the color was mixed. I actually like how it turned out because it reminds me of the ocean like back in California where I came from. The color of this project gives a calm, ocean wave look that makes me homesick. Overall, I really need to make my bowl taller and wider. Thankfully I learned three things which are to make a smaller base, pull it up in sections, and choke between pulls.
